When I first got into 1/32nd scale racing, I really wanted to make a routed wood track.  However, time, inexperience with routing, and inexperience with running non-magnet cars on wood kept me from persuing this dream.   A few years ago, I decided to have a small oval made that I could test with.  I ordered it from Autorama Tracks in Louisiana, and it then sat for two years.

Fast-forward to the summer of 2007, and I decided to complete it in order to take it to a car show and spread the word about slot cars.  What better venue, than with a bunch of gearheads?

I won't go into significant detail, other than to tell you that it was the easiest assembly job.  Paint it, lay the tape, wire it, run it.  That about sums it up!

I did run every single car in my inventory on it to see how they would run.  Verdict - I LOVE WOOD TRACKS!  So much so, I'm planning on selling my tracks and building a new road/oval course!
